Hudson aircraft # AM 773 lost during a patrol. Sgt’s J.A. Gillis (RCAF), A Longstaff
(RAF) and P/O J. Howard-Bangs were also killed.
Sergeant Burns is buried in plot 381 Grave 1, in Terrace Hill Cemetery, Truro,
Nova Scotia


BURSILL, JOHN ALAN - P/O   411119
Son of Samuel and Eleanor Jane Bursill, of Campbelltown, New South Wales, Australia.
killed August 10, 1942  Age 25
#31 Operational Training Unit, Debert, Nova Scotia
Hudson aircraft # BW401 was on a cross-country navigation exercise when the
weather conditions deteriorated unexpectedly at base. The aircrew acknowledged an
r/t message diverting the aircraft to Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. The
Hudson struck high ground while in level flight and completely disintegrated. P/O
P.A. Rogers (RCAF), Sgt’s A.W. Cooke (RCAF), J.K. Hobson (RCAF), and H.J. Vincent
(RCAF) were also killed. Pilot Officer Bursill is buried in plot 379 grave 3 Terrace Hill
Cemetery, Truro, Nova Scotia

ELLIOTT, PERCY WILLIAM - Sgt   425289
Son of Percy Henry and Jean Isobel Elliott, of Graceville, Queensland, Australia.
killed April 08, 1943   Age 23
#31 Operational Training Unit, Debert, Nova Scotia
Sgt’s T.V. Hyland (P) (RCAF), and P.W. Elliott were engaged in a navigation exercise
and were killed when Hudson aircraft # FK408 crashed near Sydney, Nova Scotia.

Son of John and Havelock Mary King; husband of Phyllis King, of Eastern Creek, New South Wales, Australia.

The crew of Hudson aircraft # AM721 were engaged in a photography exercise
when their aircraft struck high ground and disintegrated whilst flying in bad weather
at Folly Lake, Nova Scotia P/O (P) J.T. Creighton (RCAF), and Sgt D.H. Lennon (RAF)
were also killed.  Buried in Plot 379. Grave 1. Terrance Hill Cemetety, Truro Nova Scotia

(RAF), Sgt’s C.B. Crummey (RAF), and S.J. Oakley (RAF) were also killed.
